Considered one of the most exceptional historical villages of Portugal, in Sortelha we'll be able to see the old City Hall and Jail, a series of vernacular houses, mostly inside the Village Walls from the 13th century Castle. Sortelha, due to it's remote location and slow development in the last 2 centuries kept itself very pure inside the walls, remaining a medieval atmosphere hard to see elsewhere.
